Mugen or M.U.G.E.N is one of my hobbies and has been for many moons. It is basically a 2D Fighting game engine that is empty when you first download it. My mugen is currently over 6 gigabytes in size and all of the stages I use are ones that I personally made. They are far from professional and probably not to everyone's taste but that's the beauty of Mugen. One can do whatever one pleases with it. The community is vast and players swap their creations to grow their personal collections. I am not skilled enough yet to make characters though I do understand the process, time constraints have prevented me from going further with it. My 2nd favourite genre after racing games is fighting games so mugen was a dream come true for me. Below are links to some of my work in Mugen. I have tonnes and tonnes but this is just a tiny snippet. You can explore my channel that is in the links to see other stuff. Here's a couple of stage showcases and fun vids I've made, including a stage creation tutorial I was asked to make.
This is my First ever animated stage. It's an edit of an old fighting game stage and even with four separate jpg's creating the animation this stage is under 1 megabyte.
These are my edits of Savage Reign's Stages
This is my entry into a "mugen story" competition. A character is chosen that you must fight and make a little story video about it. I use Rimle and had to fight Haruhi.
In my quest to learn how to make a character I discovered I could edit old characters and make them new. So I created "White Rimle" from my favourite Mugen Character. I can't stand cheap characters so I designed her to be a "cheapy killer". Here's me fighting two of the cheapest chars in Mugen with her.
Here's one of my last Stage Showcases. I was in an experimental, mirroring phase. The look is an acquired taste but these stages are mostly 300 kb and a properly coded sprite heavy stage is averaging around 20 mb. So for someone that likes to have a lot stages I'll take a 300kb stage any day as the storage space is much more manageable.
